Cyber and AI assurance for Irish organisations

Independent, evidence-led help with the EU AI Act, NIS2, GDPR, DORA and the Cyber Resilience Act — for Irish boards that must show they looked, and for owners with nobody to ask.

What applies in Ireland

The same EU rules, with Irish regulators and timing

Ireland applies the EU’s digital rulebook through its own laws and authorities. This is where things stand as of October 2026.

EU AI Act

The Regulation of Artificial Intelligence Act 2026 was signed into law on 21 July 2026. It sets up the AI Office of Ireland as the national co-ordinator and single point of contact, with oversight shared across several sector regulators.

NIS2

Ireland has not yet transposed NIS2. The National Cyber Security Bill is still being drafted, and in July 2026 the European Commission referred Ireland to the EU Court of Justice over the delay. The National Cyber Security Centre is expected to play the central role. In-scope organisations should prepare now rather than wait for the Act.

GDPR and the Data Protection Commission

The Data Protection Commission supervises GDPR in Ireland and leads cross-border cases for the many international technology firms based here. AI projects that use personal data need a lawful basis, a DPIA where risk is high, and clear supplier terms.

DORA and the Cyber Resilience Act

DORA has applied to financial entities since 17 January 2025, supervised in Ireland by the Central Bank. Under the Cyber Resilience Act, manufacturers must report actively exploited vulnerabilities and severe incidents from 11 September 2026.

How we help Irish clients

One practice, one method, priced in euro

Irish clients are served by Europe Cyber-Safe, using the same evidence-first method, services and euro prices as the rest of the European Union. We work remotely and in English. We do not have an office in Ireland and do not claim to.
